  With the restructuring of global supply chains and advancements in smart manufacturing, factories and warehouses are increasingly demanding higher efficiency, safety, and flexible leasing options for forklifts, driving the need for intelligent forklift management systems. As a core material-handling tool, forklifts require remote digital management to handle high-frequency operations. Additionally, rising fuel/battery costs, maintenance expenses, idle-time optimization, and operational safety have become critical concerns, further increasing demand for data-driven forklift utilization analysis.

   GEMONE is a Belgium-based company that provides industrial equipment fleet safety management and telematics solutions globally. It primarily helps industrial equipment fleets improve fleet efficiency, optimize safety and compliance, and enhance service and maintenance. In 2022, to meet a customer's demand for intelligent management of a fleet of 8,000 forklifts, GEMONE collaborated with Think Power to jointly develop the Onyx smart hardware product, which forms a complete solution with GEMONE's self-developed software platform. This helps customers achieve fleet tracking and tracing, business data analysis and optimization, reduced accident risks, and timely maintenance and handling services, supporting enterprises in their digital transformation of operations.

Onyx has the following three core functions:
1. Enhanced Safety Management
Through iButton authentication and relay control technology, it ensures only authorized personnel can operate forklifts. The system monitors and records speeding and dangerous driving behaviors in real-time, supports geo-fencing functionality, and automatically triggers alarms or power cuts when exceeding operational boundaries. All data is traceable for safety analysis and accountability, significantly improving forklift operational safety.

2. Improved Operational Visibility
The system comprehensively records forklift operation data, including driver information, working hours, and travel routes, achieving full process transparency. This not only standardizes driver operation compliance but also provides accurate data for payroll calculation. Meanwhile, data analysis optimizes forklift dispatching to enhance overall operational efficiency.

3. Flexible Scalability

Adopting a modular Bluetooth solution, the system easily adapts to forklift leasing, sales, and fleet expansion needs. Through whitelist management, it quickly adds authorized drivers, ensuring management costs remain unchanged during business growth while achieving efficient, low-cost large-scale operations.
